Fichtner Americas

Established in 1922 by Martin Fichtner, Fichtner has evolved from an at first regionally focused engineering office into Germany's leading independent firm of consulting engineers, and it is now among the front-runners internationally.

For public- and private-sector infrastructure service providers we offer comprehensive and interdisciplinary consultancy support, with our key area of activity concerned with central utilities infrastructure. No other enterprise offers our combination of engineering and consultancy, as needed for realizing large-scale projects, with classical management consultancy services.

Fichtner has been active in the Americas since 1966. We are recognized for planning and consulting services along the entire value-added chain of infrastructure projects and have completed more than 500 projects in some 40 countries in the Americas.

The main focuses are:

  • power-to-X (PtX), green hydrogen (GH2), green ammonia, green methanol, green methanol-to-gasoline (e-fuel), sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)
  • water supply and sanitation, including wastewater treatment and reuse
  • power generation based on renewable energies, such as solar, hydro, geothermal and wind, as well as thermal power
  • power transmission/distribution
  • advising and structuring of transactions
  • tariff studies in the energy and water sector
  • climate change resilience
  • mining and environment

Our Quality Standards

We have continually developed our quality management system, expanding it into an Integrated Management System for compliance, quality, information security, occupational health and safety and environmental protection. In our Corporate Philosophy, the Fichtner Group’s senior management has committed itself to the application and continuous improvement of the management systems.

The externally certified IMS we have adopted not only meets the process-oriented approach of ISO 9001, but also the requirements of ISO 14001 for environmental protection and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety. Our Compliance Management System follows ISO 37301.

In addition, our IMS meets the requirements of ISO 27001 for an information security system. This sends a strong signal about how we value security of information, data and systems. Our clients and business partners as well as our employees can rely on reliable information technology (IT).
