Development of national water sector strategy and policy, Guyana

The Government of Guyana aimed to sustainably develop their water resources management and to address challenges in the water supply and sanitation sector. In order to develop an Integrated Water Resources Management Plan, Fichtner provided assistance in developing additional governance structures, including a national water policy, detailed definition of the stakeholders’ roles and responsibilities, improved institutional capacities, and enhanced strategy aimed at expanding access to water for vulnerable groups.
