Design of a wastewater treatment plant on the Acelhuate River, El Salvador
Wastewater from the San Salvador metropolitan area has been discharged to the tributaries of the Acelhuate River without prior treatment, which has a considerable environmental impact on these tributaries and the local population. Fichtner assists the client in the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, which not only helps to resolve an important environmental problem but also generates electric power, thus further contributing to environmental improvements in the country and making the project economically self-sustaining.
