National strategy for the production and use of green hydrogen, Ecuador

Fichtner was hired to develop a roadmap for the production and use of green hydrogen in Ecuador to help reduce GHG emissions by 20-25% by 2025. The assessment considered the competitiveness of green hydrogen’s costs, evaluated internal demand and potential applications, identified export potential, and assessed the regulatory frameworks. Fichtner prepared a national strategy for the production and use of green hydrogen, considering electricity sector planning and climate change policies, detailing the milestones, investment needs, and indicators for short, medium, and long-term activities.
