Improvement of the water supply and sanitation systems of the city of Granada, Nicaragua

With the aim of significantly improving the water supply in the city of Granada as well as improving the water quality at the lakeshore, Fichtner was engaged to carry out a feasibility study as well as the complete technical planning of the rehabilitation and extension of the city's water supply and sewerage networks. In addition to the engineering of the required measures, the institutional strengthening of ENACAL was also developed. This included a proposal for the creation of a regional water supply and sanitation company, which had not yet been established.

  • Sewerage network for approx. 42,000 inhabitants

  • Improvement and extension of the water supply network, with pipelines for the main network and for the distribution network
  • Supply and installation of equipment for a 110 m deep well and approx. 1.6 km main delivery pipelines
